Yes : Today
we are more daring and free to tackle critical religious issues
considered to be crucial points of contention between Muslims and
Christians, being part of their convictions. Measures of success: * Creation of new trust-based friendships

OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?

Major obstacles encountered : Dealing with some extremists.

ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?

Action areas : * Training ministers for Evangelical, Episcopal, Lutheran and Reformed churches * Opening channels of Christian-Christian and Christian-Muslim dialogues * Organization of lectures and forums to discuss the topics of the hour from a religious point of view Most important activities developed : For the first time in the history of religious organizations: * Professors and deans gathered to work out a plan of joint action * Professors from various institutes were invited to attend postgraduate assessment panels *
Students from other institutes were invited to spend a whole day with
their peers in the Near East School of Theology, where they performed
their religious rituals freely and visited sacred places of worship.
