action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade?

 *	The State has included family planning as a subject in school curricula, upon our advocacy.
 *	Adoption of reproductive health programmes on the part of the Ministry of Public Health and Ministry of Social Affairs
 *	Establishment of a national standing committee for the population
 
 Measures of success:
 
 *	Making legislative changes
 *	Achieving the goals set within the Association’s Advocacy Strategy
 *	Qualitative and quantitative progress in public stance on raised issues
 *	Youth involvement in the FPA’s activities and programmes

 | Major obstacles encountered :
 
 *	Some sponsors grant their financial support according to political rather than methodological considerations
 *	Relatively increasing needs compared to limited resources
 *	Poor capabilities of the Lebanese Government.

| ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?

 *	Population issues
 *	Reproductive and sexual health, Family planning
 *	Youth issues: Participation, protection and prevention
 *	Women issues: Empowerment and elimination of all kinds of discrimination against women
 
 Most important activities developed :
 
 *	The FPA operates according to a set strategy for the period 2003-2007
 *
In 2005 changes were made based on the new strategy of the
International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), known as the 5 As.
 *
The new strategy includes working fields related to youth and
adolescents; AIDS; community outreach; and abortion, which is
relatively limited either because there is no actual need for it or due
to community rejection of this notion.
