Yes, people have become aware of the Decade for a COP by creating and displaying Ribbons for the Decade.

2001
A Ribbon panel is given (hand delivered by a group of US UN NGO Representatives) to each US Congress person, Senate
and House of Representatives (535) in recognition of the Decade for a
Culture of Peace and Non Violence for the Children of the World.
Pope
John Paul II at the Vatican receives a Ribbon panel from the Founder of
the Ribbon project, Justine Merritt and Michele Peppers UN NGO
Representative in recognition of the Decade for a Culture of Peace and
Non Violence for the Children of the World.
2001 - 2003
Lake
Havasu, AZ - schools and places of worship create and display Ribbons
in honor of the Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non Violence for the
Children of the World on UN Day, Octber 24.
2001 to present - people are encouraged to create Ribbons and display/exhibits panels in recognition of the Decade.

2003-2010: the United Nations International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the children of the World. Show on your panel a "Culture of Peace." Church Women United (CWU) initiates the Ribbon as part of their celebrated days of prayers for peace such as World Community Day.
Founder Justine Merritt and Michele Peppers present Ribbon panel to Pope John Paul II, in honor of the United Nations Resolution for the Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the world (2001-2010), October 17, 2001.

We work with other NGO's promoting peace, disarmament and care of the environment.

Promote the Decade through our website, brochure and displays/exhbits.
