PROGRESS: Has your organization seen
progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of
action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade? |
Yes,
i have seen the progress compare with our neighbours and other
countries here in Europe and around the world. Ideas of peace,
tolerance, children's rights the children in this school are accepting
more sharply than others because of their short but very negative life
experiences - they are social orphans in our peaceful country.
|
OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?
|
The
main obstacles to the progress toward peace in our region is the policy
of people in power , they have their own interests and ideas very
different from ordinary people dreams and we have what we have at the
moment...
Everywhere violence, civil riots , wars and it is so important to educate
new generations on the ideas of peace and respect rights of others.
Violence is wrong way for keeping peace and even democracy values
can't be exported from any developed country by using military power,
fair, violence and death.
Nazism is on the rise again in some neighbouring countries and Europe cannot remain silent.
|
ACTIONS: What actions have been
undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and
nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?
|
We
have peace lessons at every school and inviting people who survived
during WW2 just to let us know what and how it happened 60 years ago
and never forget about our past. A lot of pupils are doing
research concerning WW2,we have museums at many schools dedicated to
that event, trips to Hatun village fired by nazi with all citizens
including small children, Brest memorial etc.
|
ADVICE: What advice would you like to
give to the Secretary-General and the General Assembly to promote a
culture of peace and nonviolence during the second half of the Decade? |
As
teachers, we do beleive and educate and upbring our pupils in a way of
tolerance , respect each other despite of race , culture and way of
life but we have to be in one team if we want to keep peace at the
planet Earth, and say very openly "NO" if in some countries
politicians are trying to rebuild nazism or bring democracy
with guns and violence to the rest of human beings whenever you live. I
do not want be naive and know that during our human beings
civilisation we hadn't wars only for 250 years but as active
citizen i want to do what i can do just to educate youth in a
peaceful and tolerant way.I was 20 years in the Air Force and know what
i am talking about and even bad peace is better than good war.
