PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade?

yes we have noticed progress; our work is in the area of health and psychsocial programs and peace building; we have developed a health and peace-buidling filter that we are currently trialling; it's objective is to assist in assuring that these programs are developed and implemented with a culture of peace focus as central.

OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?

large national govt priorities conflicting with local peace building capacities;
lack of funding for significant and long term endeavors in peace building

ACTIONS: What actions have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?

ADVICE: What advice would you like to give to the Secretary-General and the General Assembly to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the second half of the Decade?

encourage increased action and support for peace buidling initiatives, in particular from large nations, but without the the ties to their own national agendas which confound the situations; increased weight for independent third party assessments and management.

PARTNERSHIPS: What partnerships and networks does your organization participate in, thus strengthening the global movement for a culture of peace?

they are too numerous to list here

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence in the second half of the Decade (2005-2010)?

continued work on the health and peace intersection; increased innovative projects involving young people
