PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade?

small steps to progress can be observed through
a. Day programs about Non Violence in schools for teachers.
b. Peer conflict resolution program in schools.

Indicators : NGO Committee on Peace, CSW.

OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?

There is not enough public awareness about the Decade.

ACTIONS: What actions have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?

Participation in the Austrian Peace Network.
Website for Salzburg  in progress
Preparation of Powerpoint about the Decade, German one is ready.
Local peace Network being established.
Peace education, Conflict resolution, Humanitarian assistance to Albania and India, including Grassroots Networking with other womens organisations(see website)

ADVICE: What advice would you like to give to the Secretary-General and the General Assembly to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the second half of the Decade?

To encourage governments to bring Peace Education into the country's education program at all levels, starting at the teacher training level.

Member of WFWPI , ECOSOC  UNDPI  CONGO ( NGO Committees), Austria Network for Peace , WANGO

PLANS: What new engagements are planned by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence in the second half of the Decade (2005-2010)?

To actively promote the Decade, throughout Europe.
