PROGRESS: Has your organization seen progress toward a culture of peace and nonviolence in your domain of action and in your constituency during the first half of the Decade?

Yes :

Human resources management became known among public and private associations, and sustainable training grew to be a pillar of development in Tunisian associations.

Measures of success:

* Positive public response to training programmes.
* Including training in university education

OBSTACLES: What are the most important obstacles that have prevented progress?

Major obstacles encountered :

* Poor financial resources
* Slackened attitude of some directors of associations

ACTIONS: What actions have been undertaken by your organization to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence during the first half of the Decade?

Action areas :

* Human Resources management
* Sustainable training
* Management and planning
* Quality improvement

Most important activity :

* Organization of the First International Conference on Management of Human Resources (Damascus, Syria 2001) and hosting a number of French and international conferences in Tunisia.
